Stalled Weight Loss

So I started out doing really well on WW (lost 18 pounds in the first 8 weeks) but then it all went down hill. I haven’t lost any weight in an entire month! I stay within my points and my flex points, so what am I doing wrong? Well, after consulting with Big Sis, we concluded that I’m consuming too many sugary snacks like Hostess 100 Calorie Chocolate Mini Cakes and not enough sugar free snacks and veggies. I made a few minor changes with how I’ve been eating the aforementioned snacks and veggies as well as not eating after 8pm since I go to bed at 10pm (more time for the body to digest over night before I weigh myself the next morning). We also decided I should change my weigh in days to that of Saturday, the day I consume the most points. So far, so good…..I’ve already lost ½ pound in 3 days! I know it’s not much and it’s not for long, but if you haven’t lost any weight in a given amount of time, you’ll understand. Alas, progress! I don’t officially weigh in for a few more days, but I am very confident that these little changes will produce big results! Stay tuned until the next episode…

Not All Puddings Are Created Equally

kraft handi snacks sugar free puddingWhen I first joined Weight Watchers, I found these lovely Kraft Handi Snacks sugar free puddings.

Each pudding is only 60 calories and 1 point** on the WW plan. Love ‘em, love ‘em, love ‘em.

Later on, I went shopping at Walmart and found that they do not carry the Kraft Handi Snacks. Instead, I ended up buying Hunts Snack Packs.

hunt's snack pack sugar free puddingI could not decided whether to go with the sugar free version or the fat free version, so I bought a little bit of both. Unfortunately, these little puddings are 80-90 calories each and 2 points** on the Weight Watchers plan.

Sometimes, I can be a real point hog if you know what I mean. I like to conserve my points and use them wisely! Please be aware that sugar free and fat free puddings are not created equally!

Fluctuations in Body Weight

It’s interesting how our body weight is always fluctuating. For anyone out there who has dieted before, you know that you will eventually reach a plateau. Sometimes you might even gain some weight. A few weeks ago, I put on 4.8 pounds in one week. I can’t even explain why this happened. It was around that TOM, but I have not put on that much weight in one week before. The good new is that I lost 4.4 pounds the following week. I was still up around .4 pound, but I was just happy to lose more of the weight that I had gained. It could have been water retention, too. Our bodies will do some weird things when our hormones fluctuate. It makes me wonder if men have that problem, too. Women seem to have a harder time losing weight than men. I’m still LOVING weight watchers, though. I don’t think I have ever felt this good before. It’s truly amazing what happens when you eat. I never felt deprived, and if I have a snack attack, then so be it. I can afford to use some extra points** on the foods that I love.
