Recently, I read an article from AOL which reported that people who kept a food diary lost twice as much weight as people who did not keep track of their food intake. I believe this is one of the reasons why Weight Watchers works! By keeping track of every piece of food that goes into your mouth, you are more likely to make smarter choices. Many people complain about not wanting to keep track of calories, weighing foods, etc… Well, how did we get fat in the first place? We must take responsibility for our actions. We must make choices. Do we want to remain overweight and miserable, or do we want to start taking control of our lives? I will choose to take control of my actions and follow the advice of the nutritionists and keep track of everything that I put into my mouth. I have been on Weight Watchers since the end of January, and I feel much better about myself. At this moment, I have lost 32 pounds, and I feel great. I can look at my progress pictures and see the change in my body. I believe in order to lose weight, we must change our thoughts and actions. We cannot act on every little impulse to eat every piece of food that we see. By writing down what we eat (or using an online food diary like Weight Watchers), we can visually see what we have eaten in a day or week. We are more likely to make smarter choices. We can look back at our journals and figure out what helps us lose weight, what causes our weight loss to stall, or what made us gain a little that week. A food journal should be used as part of the overall picture of success. This little tool can help us succeed. Let’s embrace the opportunity to achieve better results by using the tools that Weight Watchers provides. There must be a reason for them, right?

So I started out doing really well on WW (lost 18 pounds in the first 8 weeks) but then it all went down hill. I haven’t lost any weight in an entire month! I stay within my points and my flex points, so what am I doing wrong? Well, after consulting with Big Sis, we concluded that I’m consuming too many sugary snacks like Hostess 100 Calorie Chocolate Mini Cakes and not enough sugar free snacks and veggies. I made a few minor changes with how I’ve been eating the aforementioned snacks and veggies as well as not eating after 8pm since I go to bed at 10pm (more time for the body to digest over night before I weigh myself the next morning). We also decided I should change my weigh in days to that of Saturday, the day I consume the most points. So far, so good…..I’ve already lost ½ pound in 3 days! I know it’s not much and it’s not for long, but if you haven’t lost any weight in a given amount of time, you’ll understand. Alas, progress! I don’t officially weigh in for a few more days, but I am very confident that these little changes will produce big results! Stay tuned until the next episode…

When I first joined Weight Watchers, I found these lovely Kraft Handi Snacks sugar free puddings.
Each pudding is only 60 calories and 1 point** on the WW plan. Love ‘em, love ‘em, love ‘em.
Later on, I went shopping at Walmart and found that they do not carry the Kraft Handi Snacks. Instead, I ended up buying Hunts Snack Packs.
I could not decided whether to go with the sugar free version or the fat free version, so I bought a little bit of both. Unfortunately, these little puddings are 80-90 calories each and 2 points** on the Weight Watchers plan.
Sometimes, I can be a real point hog if you know what I mean. I like to conserve my points and use them wisely! Please be aware that sugar free and fat free puddings are not created equally!
